The Tablet PC will revitalize and increase the possibilities for applications that previously have been based on rugged PDAs and mobile computers and thereby limited in performance or mobility.

It runs full-blown PC operating systems and therefore makes development easier since software development is taking place in the same environment as the target Tablet PC. The Tablet PC typically has a touch screen that’s readable in full sunlight. The same advantages can be found in rugged notebooks but the Tablet PC is not mobile, rather a handheld device, making handling by the end user easier and the application areas wider.
