| Embedded Motherboards |
Embedded motherboards are CPU boards based on standard formfactors. The form factors have their origin in the PC world and typically include specifications for dimensions, connectors, data communication and cooling for instance.
CPU boards are powered through a standard ATX connector enabling the use of standard ATX power supplies. The standard ATX power supply has advantages because it's cheap and standardised. The downside is size, power consumption and the need for cooling. |
