Hectronic, a specialist in embedded PC development and manufacturing, has announced the H6045, a low-power PC/104 computer board. The H6045 is based on AMD LX700/LX800 processors and come ready-to-run with Board Support Packages (BSP) for Windows XP Embedded, Windows CE or Linux. The computer board is equipped with a socket for up to 1GB DDR SDRAM, four USB 2.0, one 10/100Mb/s Ethernet and two serial ports. Hectronic’s free Linux distribution and toolkit supports configuration and compilation of open-source software to accelerate development work based on H6045.
The H6045 is offered specified for extended temperature range and with conformal coating as an option making it suitable for embedded systems with strict environmental demands. Targeted applications are field test and measurement, off-shore, transportation and defence. Stacked with existing PC/104 boards on the market customized functionality is easily implemented to build models for proof of concept or to rapidly finalize robust products for production in low and medium sized volumes. A redesign using the board-to-board version of the H6045 computer board on a custom carrier board is suitable for adaptation to larger volumes.
Hectronic supports H6045 with free development tools, drivers, code examples and a complete open source operating system as part of its Linux BSP. There is a H6045 Starter Kit with the necessary cables, connectors, memory, BSP (WinCE, Win.XP and Linux). Technical support is provided directly from Hectronic’s development team in Uppsala, near Stockholm, Sweden.
The H6045 computer board is available now. For 100+ quantities, the H6045 with LX800 costs 189 euro per unit. The H6045 Starter Kit costs 535 euro with 512MB DDR SDRAM and 1GB Flash.
