Hectronic, a specialist in embedded PC platform technology, has announced the H6046, an Atom ETX Computer-On-Module based on Intel’s Atom Z510/530 CPUs and the companion chipset SCHUS15W. It’s an ideal choice for existing designs in the ETX form factor that would benefit from an upgrade to the latest Intel low power X86 processor technology without the need for hardware and software redesign. The Atom ETX modulet also targets new ETX designs where very low power consumption needs to be balanced with good systems performance. H6046 has a power consumption of only 7 watts and comes with integrated graphics and media hardware acceleration, four USB 2.0 ports, two COM ports and one LPT port as well as IDE interface.
There are two CPU options: 1.1 GHz or 1.6 GHz clock rate. The onboard DDRII memory from 256 Mbyte to 1 Gbyte is soldered to withstand shock and vibrations. Onboard CF socket and SATA interface are optional. With a SATA interface the Atom ETX module module is compliant with the ETX standard version 3.02. This Atom ETX module is available with both LVDS- and LV-TTL-interface options to drive TFT-displays.
The H6046 is expected to be available for early access sampling in the second quarter of 2009. Technical support is provided directly from Hectronic’s development team in Uppsala, near Stockholm, Sweden.
